Operation:
The electronic control valve is the dual solenoid, diaphragm actuated control valve.
It is positioned by its two solenoid pilots (2) and (3).
With pilot (2) closed and pilot (3) open, the diaphragm chamber of the main valve (1) in vented to downstream and the valve moves further open at an adjustable rate.
Conversely, with pilot (2) open and pilot (3) closed, inlet pressure is applied to the main valve diaphragm chamber, moving the valve further closed at an adjustable rate.
Finally, with both pilots closed, the diaphragm chamber is “hydraulically locked” (no flow on or off the chamber) and the valve holds its position.
The electronic control valve can be ordered with normally open, or normally closed pilots. In the event of failure, the valve will close, open or hold its last position depending on which failure position is specified.
Diaphragm actuated pressure relief/sustaining valves are used to protect systems from excessive over-pressure or to sustain a minimum upstream pressure. The valve’s pilot system senses the upstream (inlet) pressure. As long as the upstream pressure is below the setting of the valve’s pilot the main valve is tightly closed. When the inlet pressure rises above the setting of the valve’s pilot opens the main valve to allow flow into the downstream system (sustaining application) or to allow excess pressure to be discharged out of the system (relief application). Diaphragm actuated relief/sustaining valves can be supplied with solenoid shutoff and/or check function as well as other optional features.
Pump Overload and Cavitation Protection
This valve sustains pump discharge pressure, preventing pump overload and cavitation damage caused by excessive demand. By connecting the pilot sensing line to pump suction, the valve is then able to sustain pump suction pressure. Where suction pressure regimes vary, this valve is needed to limit pump flow by sustaining pump differential pressure.
Electric Check Pump Control Valve
Flow Control Valves
The Pressure Reducing Valve functions to reduce a higher upstream pressure to a lower, downstream pressure regardless of fluctuations in pressure or variations in flow. This rugged and versatile piston control valve provides superior design, simple operation, and maximum performance in water control. Maintains a constant downstream pressure despite fluctuations in demand and inlet pressure.
Meets American Iron and Steel requirements.
Electronic control valve that combines the advantages of an excellent modulating, line pressure driven, hydraulic control valve with those of electronic control. In response to signals from the electronic controller, the valve changes its opening position per preset values programmed into the controller. Both the valve’s opening and closing speeds are controllable and on-site adjustable. These valves are hydraulic, oblique pattern, globe valves with a raised seat assembly and double chamber unitized actuator, that can be disassembled from the body as a separate integral unit. The valves hydrodynamic body is designed for unobstructed flow path and provides excellent and highly effective modulation capacity for high differential pressure applications. The valves are available in the standard configuration or with an Independent Check Feature. Electric control valves operate under difficult operation conditions with minimal cavitation and noise. They meet size and dimensions requirements of various standards.
